Close to 25,000 Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the state, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Locals observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered power outages after the capital city saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

During the peak on yesterday, over 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.

Moist weather were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.
