Tehran is willing to restart nuclear discussions with the United States provided that it is treated with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has declared.

The Iranian diplomat stated solely negotiations worked, and disclosed recent overtures had been made by mediators to reopen negotiations with the Trump administration. He said Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Iran had not yet reached a point to permit the global atomic watchdog to access attacked atomic facilities for security reasons.

Walking a Difficult Course

The foreign minister is walking a complex route since Iran does not want be seen to be operating from a situation of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged more powerful militarily and psychologically from the Israeli-US attack on its atomic facilities in June.

He was addressing at a defense forum in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material within its borders that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the impasse in the previous talks.

Earlier Negotiations Suddenly Terminated

The earlier sessions of discussions between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and hostile conclusion on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a two-week conflict that concluded with Donald Trump declaring the locations had been obliterated. Subsequently, Western states employed their right to reinstate international penalties, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Proposed

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was agreed an local partnership with Washington's engagement could refine atomic fuel. Both sides would have been able to declare success since home-based processing would have continued and the US could be confident that Iran's nuclear programme was entirely non-military.

It had not been decided in the discussions that Washington's technical specialists could function inside Iran, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. Representatives asserted three times they had reached agreement with Trump's special envoy the American negotiator only for the agreement to fall apart due to "opponents in the US".

Current Status

In his speech to the conference, aimed to portray the US as a hegemonic power that misuses the idea of international law, the foreign minister said the 12-day war revealed the clash could not be ended by military means. He stated the assaults began with a American requirement for an unconditional Iranian surrender and culminated with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is certain the first strikes by Israel were carried out with complete American awareness and cooperation, making faith hard to reestablish.

Diplomacy Stays the Final Resolution

The foreign minister said: "Tehran was not the one that had fled diplomacy; it was the United States and the European states that had consistently attempted to enforce their demands during the discussions. Diplomacy can still be viable and stays the primary resolution to address conflicts, but its criteria, guidelines and principles must be adhered to."

"In case they speak to the citizens of Tehran with the tone of respect and honor, they will get a response in the identical language."

Restoration and Reconstruction

In what is portrayed by Iranian officials as the battle of repair and reconstruction, the foreign minister stated he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "have significantly improved than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. He stated: "We effectively endured this engagement. Our nuclear technology, which they intended to eliminate, stays intact. The Iranian people have developed more resilient, more integrated, and more supportive of the leadership and the country in the face of this invasion."
